United Association of American Musicians (UAAM), as one of the largest music organizations in the America,
consists of international musicians with nearly hundreds of different nationalities. It has been in pursuit of alliance
and blending of the nation for a long period of time. Established in Washington D.C., UAAM is a significant
non-profit organization which supports international cultural developments of the country. For years, it has
expanded across the United States and has become a well-know international musicians group.
Since the beginning of this century, to respond to the objective of the country to establish international center for
high-end scientific and technologic culture to cooperate with implementation of global cultural strategic plan of the
country based on San Jose area (Silicon Valley), the association moved its headquarters to the western United States.
Therefore, it is now located in the high technology culture city in San Francesco Bay, where is of beautiful sceneries
and excellent humanities environment. The UAAM is now directly leaded by Arts Council San Jose and its mission
is: to unite the outstanding musicians from different nations of the world, to achieve the multi-culture, and to
promote the musical communication and cooperation.
Recent years, the UAAM has been actively organizing and presenting events in western America. It makes the most
of its advantage of multi-cultural musicians to help the social entities and training organizations for music education,
as well as elite universities. The UAAM also cooperates with other artists organizations to host musical activities.
With promotion of national fine traditions as its purpose, it has made brilliant achievements in international projects
for music. Its former high level music competitions, including: United Young Musicians International Instrument
Competition and United Musicians International Music Tour, have become famous cultural brand across the whole
United States. In recent years, the music activities like San Jose International Music Festival and United
International Piano Competition for Young Musicians hosted by UAAM have been included in major cultural
communication projects of the nation.
